Architectural Technology Co-op Student

Location: Edmonton

Wade Consulting Inc. (WADE) offers expertise in building envelope engineering, structural engineering, and roof consulting. We work collaboratively with owners, developers, architects, and builders to design new buildings, assess existing buildings, and make rehabilitation that ensures long-term value and durability for our clients while meeting the performance requirements of our constantly evolving building codes.


The Opportunity

WADE is looking for an Architectural Technology Co-op Student to join our team in Edmonton. This is a 15-week internship/co-op position running from May 11 to August 21, 2026.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with building envelope and roof condition assessments and targeted investigations

  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and sub-consultants at all stages of the project

  • Assist with preparation of engineering documents, schedules, or reports

  • Assist with preparation of plans, drawings, contracts, and technical specifications

  • Assist with project document reviews (drawings, specifications, shop drawings, submittals, etc.)

  • Collect and organize field review data to evaluate and make recommendations

  • Assist with field performance testing (water penetration, air leakage, thermography, hammer sounding, etc.)

  • Attend field reviews and assist with reporting

  • Assist with contract administration tasks (preparation of Certificate for Payments, Change Orders, Site Instructions etc.)


Education and Skills

  • Must be a registered student pursuing a Technology Diploma or Certificate in Architecture, Civil, or Construction or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 programs including Word and Excel

  • Proficient with Autodesk programs such as AutoCAD and Revit, and Bluebeam would be an asset

  • Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation are required

  • Knowledge of wood frame and concrete construction is an asset

  • Experience in building envelope and roof design and construction is an asset

  • Demonstrates effective communication skills – both written and verbal.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deliverable-based environment

  • Effective organizational and time management skills

  • Self-motivated, fast learner with the desire to continually learn and grow.

  • Comfortable dealing with clients and contractors on an as-needed basis. 

  • Hard worker, ready to assume responsibility quickly and have fun at the same time.
