Project Description

WADE was engaged by the Cedarwood Village Condominium Corporation to provide design, tendering, field review and contract administration services for the building envelope rehabilitation. The Cedarwood Village Condominium complex was constructed circa 1978 and consists of 13 two-storey townhouse style buildings, totalling 61 units.The project was divided into two phases. Phase 1 involved a mockup, including two buildings, to help refine the scope for the larger Phase 2, which covered all remaining buildings. The scope of work included replacing the siding, windows, doors, and rain goods, as well as replacing deteriorated wood framing elements and abating asbestos-containing finishes as required to facilitate the work. WADE also performed ASTM E 1105 (Standard Test Method for Field Determination of Water Penetration of Installed Exterior Windows, Skylights, Doors, and Curtain Wall by Uniform or Cyclic Static Air Pressure) water penetration testing on a sampling of newly installed windows.
