Roofing Consultant
Location: Edmonton

WADE is looking for a Roofing Consultant to join our growing team in Edmonton. Key Responsibilities:
Conduct detailed roof inspections, assessments and life cycle evaluations.
Conduct leak investigations and failure analysis to recommend corrective actions.
Provide expert recommendations for repair, replacement, or maintenance.
Liaise with clients, contractors, and sub-consultants at all stages of the project to develop effective roofing solutions.
Work with senior staff to ensure compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
Prepare and assist in development of technical roofing reports, engineering documents, schedules.
Prepare and assist with preparation of plans, drawings, contracts, and technical specifications.
Perform and assist with project document reviews (drawings, specifications, shop drawings, submittals, etc.).
Interpret and analyze field review data to evaluate and make recommendations.
Perform field reviews of work in progress and document progress and deficiency lists.
Conduct contract administration tasks.
Provide ongoing support and guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
Education and skills
Minimum 7 - 10 years of experience in the roofing industry as a roof consultant, roof inspector, roofing project manager, roofing super intendent or roofing foreman.
Preferably with ARCA (Accepted or Apprentice), RRC or RRO designation.
Red Seal Roofing ticket or equivalent will be considered an asset.
Project Management experience and/or ability to interact with external stakeholders would be considered an asset.
Experience with developing roofing specifications and design of roofing details will be considered an asset.
Strong knowledge of roofing materials, typical installation practices, construction techniques, and industry regulations.
Comfortable setting up ladders and accessing / walking steep and flat roof surfaces.
Proficient in Bluebeam and Microsoft Office 365 programs including Word and Excel
Ability to read technical drawings.
Knowledge of current building and energy codes, ASTM, and CSA Standards.
Effective organizational and time management skills.
Candidate Profile
Demonstrates effective communication skills – both written and verbal.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve common roofing challenges encountered on site.
Self-motivated, fast learner with the desire to continually learn and grow.
Interested in transitioning field experience into a consulting role focused on quality assurance, inspections, and technical guidance
Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deliverable-based environment.
Comfortable dealing with clients and contractors on a regular basis.
Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation are required.
Readily able to assume responsibility, work independently, and be a team player.
Inquisitive, clear thinker who can determine what is required and draw rational conclusions from the information available.
Hard worker, ready to assume responsibility quickly and have fun at the same time.
