Structural Engineer-In-Training (EIT)

WADE is looking for an Engineer in Training (EIT) to join our growing structural team in Edmonton. Key Responsibilities
Perform detailed structural analysis, prepare design calculations, and write reports under the supervision of a structural engineer.
Perform and assist the project engineer in field activities such as site reviews, structural condition assessments.
Perform construction contract administration tasks on active construction projects such as review of shop drawings, preparation of change orders, review of contractors submittals.
Accountable for the technical quality and accuracy of work performed.
Work under close supervision, with work that is regularly reviewed for accuracy, adequacy, and conformance with guidelines and procedures.
Co-ordinate and provide drawing/CAD support to staff designers on an as-needed basis.
Prepare engineering documents, schedules, or reports, as assigned.
Prepare project specifications and/or documents as assigned.
education and skills
Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc.) in Civil (Structural) Engineering from an accredited university.
Experience with structural analysis software, SFRAME, SAP2000, STADD, Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and visualization tools is required.
Comfortable working on active construction sites.
Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
Must be willing to work on swing stages.
Aptitude for working with existing facilities.
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
Experience in Structural Analysis and Design for Buildings is required.
Experience in concrete structure restoration, parkade restoration, and high to mid-rise balcony rehabilitation projects are assets.
Experience in steel and wood-framed construction is an asset.
Experience in Building Envelope Rehabilitation projects is an asset.

Salary Range: $60k -$70k
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hrs/week
